Medicare Rebates

Stone Speech Pathology is a registered Medicare provider, and eligible clients may be able to access Medicare rebates for speech pathology services across the lifespan.

Medicare rebates may be available through a range of referral pathways, including the Chronic Condition Management Plan (previously known as the Chronic Disease Management Plan) and eligible Mental Health Treatment Plan (M10) referrals. Depending on your individual circumstances, other Medicare-funded pathways may also be available.

Access to Medicare-funded speech pathology services generally requires a referral from an appropriate medical practitioner, such as your GP, paediatrician, psychiatrist or other eligible specialist. Eligibility, the number of rebated sessions available and any out-of-pocket costs will depend on the relevant Medicare program and your individual circumstances.

We encourage children, adults and families to discuss their eligibility with their treating medical professional.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

NDIS participants are welcome to access services at Stone Speech Pathology. Services are charged in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

Before commencing services, we will provide you with a Service Agreement that clearly outlines the services we will provide, associated fees, and important information about how we will work together. We aim to make this process clear and straightforward so that you understand your supports and fees from the beginning.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes plans change and appointments may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. We ask that you provide a minimum of 2 business days’ notice wherever possible.

Where less than 2 business days’ notice is provided, a cancellation fee of up to the full cost of the scheduled appointment may apply, in line with the terms of your Service Agreement and relevant funding arrangements.

We recognise that unexpected and extenuating circumstances can occur. Where appropriate, requests to waive a cancellation fee will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Regular attendance supports continuity of care and helps us provide timely services to our wider community. Where there are ongoing late cancellations or missed appointments, we will work with you to discuss any barriers to attendance and whether alternative service arrangements may be more suitable. If difficulties continue, we may need to review or cease services.
